Why Ocean of Ojas?

In Ayurveda, ojas is the body’s vital essence — the subtle energy that fuels immunity, radiance, and joy. When ojas is abundant, we feel vibrant, resilient, and deeply connected. When it is depleted, we may feel scattered, exhausted, or out of balance.

This retreat is designed to restore and replenish your ojas through yoga, Ayurvedic nourishment, mindful rest, and time in nature. Held in the lush beauty of Costa Rica — where ocean and jungle meet — the setting itself becomes a co-teacher, reminding us of the harmony we are meant to live in.

To honor the intimacy of this work and the uniqueness of the place, we are limiting the retreat to just 21 guests. This small group size allows for deeper connection, personalized attention, and a truly transformative experience.

Come replenish your inner essence where ocean and jungle embrace.

About the Osa Peninsula

The Osa Peninsula is more than a destination — it’s an immersion into a living, breathing classroom of nature. Here, the rainforest meets the sea, offering a rare chance to slow down, awaken your senses, and feel what it means to be fully alive.

During our time together, you’ll rise with the rhythms of the jungle, move and breathe with the ocean as your backdrop, and allow the stillness of nature to restore what busy life often takes away. This wild yet nurturing environment mirrors the essence of Ayurveda — reminding us that when we align with the elements, vitality and balance return naturally.

By visiting the Osa with us, you’re not just traveling to Costa Rica. You’re stepping into a container designed for renewal — where daily practice, nourishing meals, and the wisdom of the land weave together to replenish your inner ojas and send you home with clarity, energy, and joy.

Nourishment for Body & Soul

Awaken your senses. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in your retreat rate — each one a vibrant expression of Ayurveda, flavor, and Costa Rica’s seasonal abundance.

On retreat, food becomes more than fuel. Imagine floating from practice to a communal dining table, where the air is rich with the scent of fresh herbs and spices. Meals here invite you to slow down, savor, and connect — nourishing not only the body but also the heart. The dining table becomes a place of story, laughter, and friendship, where every bite is shared in community.

Our meals are crafted by Chef Jen Millar, the retreat center’s owner, Ayurvedic practitioner, and functional medicine nutritionist. She lives onsite and brings a deep passion for healing nutrition, preparing family-style, set-menu meals that are individually tailored to meet dietary needs. Every dish is colorful, plant-forward, 100% gluten-free, and sourced locally — from organic Costa Rican rice to just-caught fish and vibrant tropical produce.

While meals are health-conscious and dosha-balancing, they are also deeply satisfying. Think nutrient-dense breakfasts to fuel your mornings, wholesome lunches for balance, and grounding dinners to restore you by nightfall. And yes — there’s always room for a lovingly crafted dessert to end the day.

Here, food is not just sustenance. It’s a highlight of the retreat experience — a ritual of nourishment, connection, and joy.

Practice in the Jungle Shala

Our days together unfold in the retreat’s purpose-built yoga shala, a luminous space where the walls open to the jungle, bamboo floors ground your practice, and ocean breezes flow freely through. Here, you’ll move, breathe, and restore while surrounded by the sounds of nature — scarlet macaws overhead, waves in the distance, and the rhythm of the rainforest holding you.

At Ocean of Ojas, practice is more than movement — it’s a return to wholeness. Our sessions weave together:

  • AyurYoga — yoga infused with Ayurvedic wisdom, tailored to balance the doshas and meet you where you are each day

  • Pranayama — breathwork practices to strengthen agni (inner fire), calm the nervous system, and expand vitality

  • Meditation & Mindfulness — cultivating stillness, presence, and clarity

  • Marma Therapy & Self-Care Rituals — guided practices to release tension and replenish your vital essence (ojas)

Each class is accessible and adaptable — whether you’re a lifelong yogi or stepping into practice for the first time. The focus is not on performance, but on listening inward, moving with intention, and aligning body, breath, and spirit.

Step into the Ocean of Ojas — your journey begins here.
